School Spirit Wear, Grad Shirts and Fundraiser Tees

School orders fail for two reasons that have nothing to do with printing: a supplier minimum that shuts out the eleven kids who signed up late, and a payment process that expects somebody to put four hundred dollars on a personal card. Neither applies here — no minimum, and an invoice you can actually process.

Why it fits

The two things that usually go wrong.

Late sign-ups are free

Every school order gets more names after the deadline. With no minimum and no setup fee, adding four shirts a week later costs exactly the same per square inch as the original order — there is no "we already ran it" conversation.

Paid the way a school pays

Card or Interac e-Transfer against an invoice, and several orders can be bundled onto one invoice. Nobody has to float the cost on a personal credit card and claim it back.

You choose the garment

A cheap tee for a fun run and a decent hoodie for the grad class can come from the same order, because you buy the blanks and we print the transfers.

Budget before you commit

$0.0249 per square inch, published. You can cost the whole order before asking anyone for money, which is usually what a parent council needs in order to approve it.

What schools order

Four recurring jobs.

Spirit wear

House, team and school-wide apparel, usually ordered in late summer for September and topped up through the year as new students join.

Grad and leaver shirts

One design, a lot of names, a fixed date in May or June. Ordering with a fortnight in hand leaves room for a reprint if a size runs short.

Sports teams and clubs

Warmups, team shirts and tournament apparel — mostly on polyester, so press at 270–285°F rather than cotton settings.

Fundraisers

The margin maths is simple and worth doing before you set a price: transfer cost plus blank cost plus your time, against the price you charge. See below.

Fundraisers

The margin maths, done for you.

A parent council selling shirts needs to know the margin before setting a price. Here is a realistic worked example for an adult full-front print. Blank costs vary by supplier and garment, so substitute your own — the transfer side is exact.

The transfer is rarely the expensive part. Blanks and volunteer time usually dominate — which is worth knowing before you discount the shirts.

Because there is no minimum, the low-risk way to run a fundraiser is a small first batch, then reprint what actually sells rather than guessing sizes in advance and being left with thirty extra-smalls.

Sizing

Youth and adult print sizes.

Scale the front print down for youth garments — past about nine inches wide it runs into the sleeve seams.

Timing

The school calendar, worked backwards.

Printing is same-day on anything ordered before 2 PM ET. What takes time in a school order is the approval — a design usually waits on a teacher, a principal and a parent committee.

FAQ

School order questions

Is there a minimum order for school apparel?
No. That is usually the deciding factor — a late sign-up can be added as a single shirt at the same rate as the original hundred, without anyone having to explain to a parent that the order closed.
Can you invoice a school or a parent council?
Yes. Payment can be by card or Interac e-Transfer against an invoice, and several orders can be bundled onto one invoice when different classes or committees order separately.
How far ahead should we order for September?
Order in July or early August. The printing is same-day; the constraint is always how long a committee takes to agree on a design. Placing the artwork decision in June is what actually protects a September date.
What size print fits a youth shirt?
Seven to eight inches wide for a youth full front. Going past about nine inches usually pushes the print into the sleeve seams. Adult sizes run 10–12 inches.
Can we print on hoodies as well as tees?
Yes, and mixing garment types in one order costs nothing extra. Fleece takes the longer end of the press range — 12–15 seconds — because the fabric is thicker.
Can we use a school logo or mascot?
We print the artwork you supply, and you are responsible for having the right to use it. School-owned logos are normally fine with the school's permission. Licensed properties, professional team marks and copyrighted characters need permission from the rights holder — we cannot grant that.

Start with what you have.

No minimum means you can order the shirts you have names for today and add the late sign-ups next week at the same rate.
