DTF Gang Sheets — Fit More Designs, Waste Less Film

A gang sheet is one printed sheet with many designs packed onto it. The rate is the same $0.0249 per square inch as any other transfer — what you save is the empty film that surrounds every design when you order them one at a time. Build one in the browser or upload a sheet you have already laid out.

Why gang

The saving is area, not rate.

This is the part most explanations get wrong. Ganging does not get you a discount per square inch — our rate does not change with quantity. What it does is remove waste.

Order fifteen small designs individually and each one is priced on its own bounding box, with unavoidable empty space around it. Pack the same fifteen onto one sheet and that empty space collapses into the gaps between them. Same rate, considerably less area, noticeably smaller invoice.

The practical rule: one large print, order it individually. Lots of small ones, gang them.

The rate per square inch is identical either way. What changes is how much empty film you are paying for.
Two ways to order

Build it here, or bring your own.

Use the builder

Drop your artwork into the browser, set sizes and quantities, and it packs the sheet for you with the total updating live. Open the builder →

Upload a finished sheet

Already laid it out in Photoshop or Illustrator? Upload it as a single file at the finished size through the normal order flow. Transparent background, around 300 DPI at print size.

How it works

From artwork to pressed garment.

The sheet is only a delivery format. Once you have cut them apart, each design presses exactly like any other transfer.
  1. 1
    Add your designs

Upload each design and set how large you want it and how many copies. Mixed sizes and mixed quantities on one sheet are completely normal.

  2. 2
    Let it pack the sheet

Designs are arranged to use the 22.75-inch width efficiently. The sheet grows in length as you add more, and the price grows with the area — not with the number of designs.

  3. 3
    Check the total and order

The price updates live. Add the cutting service at $0.25 per copy if you would rather not trim them yourself.

  4. 4
    We print and ship

Ordered before 2 PM ET on a business day, printed that afternoon, shipped the next morning, packed flat.

  5. 5
    Cut and press

Trim each design out, then press it like any other transfer — the sheet is only a delivery format, not a different product.

Layout tips

Getting the most out of a sheet.

Leave enough gap to cut

About a quarter inch between designs. Tighter packing saves a small amount of film and makes trimming genuinely annoying — and one slip through a design costs more than the film saved.

Put tall designs together

Mixing very tall and very short designs across a row leaves dead space above the short ones. Grouping similar heights packs far more efficiently.

Crop each design tight before uploading

Empty canvas around a design is area you pay for. Crop to the artwork, not to a comfortable-looking square.

Use the full width

The roll is 22.75 inches across whether you use it or not. A sheet that only uses 12 inches of width is leaving the rest on the table.

Order a few extra of anything small

Small designs are the ones that get miscut or mispressed. The marginal cost of two more copies of a 2-inch logo is a few cents.

Pricing

Same rate, less waste.

$0.0249 per square inch of sheet area. No setup fee, no minimum sheet size, and no charge for how many separate designs you put on it — a sheet with twenty designs costs the same as a sheet of identical area with two.

FAQ

Gang sheet questions

What is a DTF gang sheet?
One large printed sheet with many separate designs packed onto it. You cut them apart yourself (or add our cutting service) and press each one individually. It is the standard way to order when you have lots of small designs rather than one big print.
Is a gang sheet cheaper than ordering designs individually?
The rate per square inch is identical. What a gang sheet saves is wasted area — packing designs tightly onto one sheet means you pay for far less empty film between them. On a run of many small designs that difference is significant.
What size can a gang sheet be?
Up to 22.75 inches wide, which is our roll width, and effectively any length. Long sheets packed with small designs are the most efficient way to order.
Can I upload a gang sheet I already made?
Yes. If you have already laid out your sheet in Photoshop, Illustrator or another tool, upload it as a single file at the finished size. Make sure the background is genuinely transparent and the resolution is around 300 DPI at print size.
Can I mix different designs and sizes on one sheet?
Yes — that is the point of ganging. Different designs, different sizes and different quantities of each can all share one sheet.
Do you cut the designs apart?
Only if you add the cutting service, which is $0.25 per copy. Without it you receive the sheet whole and cut it yourself, which most shops with a decent pair of scissors prefer to do.
How much space should I leave between designs?
Enough to cut cleanly — roughly a quarter inch is comfortable. Packing them tighter saves a little film but makes trimming fiddly, and a slip of the scissors through a design costs more than the film you saved.
